In recent times nurseries and childcare providers have faced many reforms within their industry leading to both challenges and opportunities.  HR:4UK have been monitoring these developments and in response are delighted to announce the launch of an exciting new product – our Childcare Handbook.

It includes the appropriate nursery and childcare policies, safeguarding procedures and employment documentation to help satisfy the new ‘Inspecting safeguarding in early years, education and skills settings’ which from September 2018 is the guidance that sets out the key points that Ofsted inspectors need to consider.

Fittingly this product has been developed in-house by Angela Russell, one of our HR Consultants, who as part of the Open University, worked within the Ofsted steering group.

The handbook contains mandatory policies for the childcare industry relating to:

  1. Recruitment
  2. Qualification & Registration of Employees
  3. Development & Training
  4. Barring & Disclosure

Also included are many non-mandatory policies, rules and procedures that can be customised to meet the specific needs of a provider, such as:

  1. Social Networking
  2. Personal Hygiene
  3. Photography Controls
  4. Sickness absence

At an individual level, we can assist a childcare provider develop its own unique Safeguarding policy to help meet the compliance demands of local authorities.
