The Employment Rights Act: what employers need to know

The Employment Rights Act has now become law, following Royal Assent in December. It represents one of the most significant changes to UK employment law in many years and will affect how employers manage people, policies and day-to-day workplace decisions. Although the Act is now in force, many of its measures will be introduced in phases throughout 2026 and into 2027. Employers will need to understand what is changing, when it applies, and what practical steps are needed at different stages.

HR:4UK provides clear, practical guidance to help employers interpret the changes and prepare proportionately, so compliance can be managed without unnecessary disruption.
